Join the Friends on Saturday, October 2nd for continued cleanup, maintenance and overall beautification of the Bohemian Cemetery Omaha. This month, we will be planting perennials and bushes this month.

Please bring your own shovels and gardening tools!

Donations Needed: We are seeking donations of brown mulch for this cleanup event. If you’re unable to stay for the cleanup- you can still donate! Feel free to drop bags of mulch at the main office/ parking area.

Mother's Day Remembrance Event

The Friends will be hosting a Mother’s Day Remembrance Event with the Omaha Czech/Slovak Cultural Club and Czech & Slovak Museum of Omaha on Saturday, May 8th and Sunday, May 9th from 8am - 4pm.

Kolach and houska will also be for sale from local vendors. Funds raised will go towards the continued beautification of the grounds.

If you would like to volunteer to work a booth from 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm either day, please contact BohemianFriends@gmail.com.

Join the Friends for our May Cleanup Event as part of our continued beautification of the Bohemian Cemetery Omaha.

This month, our key projects are:

  • Mulching plant beds

  • Planting & Watering

  • Landscape cleanup at the entrance and along the fence line

  • Tree & Plant Transplanting

Please bring yard tools to help tackle these projects.

Spring Cleanup Event

Join the Friends! Bring your lawn tools, yard waste bags, etc. and pitch in as we get the cemetery ready for spring.

We will meet at the main gate of the cemetery and will determine our cleanup goals as a team.

Donation Matching

All donations dated and received from December 1, 2020 through January 5, 2021, will be matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis (up to $5,000 per individual).

The matching program is generously provided by Midlands Community Foundation’s (MCF) Matching Charitable Program.

To make a donation online, click here and select our organization from the list. To donate by check, please make it out to Midlands Community Foundation with the Memo Line stating : Bohemian Cemetery and mail it to: 217 N. Jefferson Street, Papillion, NE 68046.

Wreath Hanging

Join the Friends on November 22nd for a Wreath Hanging Holiday Event. Find us at the Front Gates as we ring in the holiday season by hanging wreaths on the front gates of the Bohemian Cemetery.

We invite you to bring wreaths for your loved ones.

Refreshments will be served.

Cemetery Cleanup Event

Join us at the Bohemian Cemetery Omaha on September 26-27 from 10AM - Noon and October 17 from 10 AM - 1PM as we work to cleanup the cemetery.

Bring yard tools, waste bags, trucks, weed whackers, and whatever else you might find useful. No need to RSVP - and we will tackle as much as we can with the volunteers available. Enjoy the nice fall weather with us and take in the history!

Weekly Watering Volunteer Needed

The Friends are seeking volunteers that are able to visit the cemetery once a week in the Spring-Summer months to water new plants and trees. Water is not available on-site, so the volunteers are asked to bring their own supply.
